THE OPPORTUNITY

The History

Shreveport Country Club is the city’s original golf landmark and one of the most storied courses in North Louisiana. Founded in 1909, it has hosted countless regional tournaments and civic events for over a century. Golf legends like Hal Sutton and David Toms learned the game here, while PGA icons Sam Snead and Ben Hogan once walked its historic fairways. The course was also home to local pioneer Freddie Burns, one of the first African American golf professionals in the region, who inspired generations of players.

This legacy of excellence, community, and inclusion now sets the foundation for a bold new chapter of redevelopment.
